Smokey Tails, the cult ‘Beats & Eats’ pop-up created by Seth Troxler, Jo Vidler and Jona Ahearne, has become well-known for its rich, authentic home-style BBQ flavours. The recipe is simple: dirty, delicious, finger-licking food derived from and inspired by Seth's three generation old family recipe book, saving up modern Midwestern cuisine and offering a new world of fresh and honest grub.
Seth brings the heart and soul to Smokey Tails. The menu is inspired by his childhood in Detroit and the legacy of his Mom's family's secret 'Burton BBQ sauce' recipe which has been passed down for 3 generations. Not only a world famous megastar DJ, Seth also enjoys mixing things up in the kitchen and so when his beloved Mom finally gave up the secret recipe, his passion for food grew and the idea for Smokey Tails was born.
Also known affectionately as 'Frodo' to his friends, Jona began his career as a 'professional party animal' with the Bearded Kitten team. Not just whirlwind of experiential genius, he also happens to be an excellent chef and is the powerhouse in the kitchen that delivers everything Smokey to your table. Working together with Seth in the kitchen is an experience in itself, as you can imagine, but that's just what Smokey Tails is all about.

Seth's Mom's family have a secret 120-year-old recipe for their special BBQ sauce that has been perfected by Seth's grandfather and passed down for generations. Seth had to earn his rite of passage to have the smokey secrets of the BBQ recipe were revealed to him.
